About NRCB . . .

The National Research Centre for Banana (NRCB) was established at Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu on 21st August, 1993 on the recommendation of the task force set up by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research as a part of its resolve to strengthen research into complexities of problems in banana and plantain and the threats imposed by many biotic and abiotic stresses and started functioning effectively from 1st April 1994. The Centre receives precipitation of 800-900 mm annually both from northeast and southwest monsoons. The climate is tropical with highest mean temperature in April-May. . . more...
